Arts of Point Richmond Art Reception at Kaleidoscope Coffee featuring Sharon Goods

Arts of Point Richmond is sponsoring an art exhibit by member Sharon Goods from March 1 through April 30, 2019 at Kaleidoscope Coffee, 109 Park Place, Point Richmond. Reception (open to public) is Saturday, March 9, 4:00p-6:00p. Sharon describes her exhibit as follows:
“The pieces in Mostly Talking Heads are a departure from my typically abstract figurative work. I am always reaching for the energetics of life on the emotional edge, but the format here is more graphic novelesque. Favorite quotes, collected over the last few years, have landed with images of slightly offbeat characters to depict the humor, angst, absurdity and vulnerability of the human drama. William Burroughs said, “Visual art and writing don’t exist on an aesthetic hierarchy that positions one above the other, because each is capable of things the other can’t do at all.” The process through which these words and images discovered each other brought Burroughs’ quote to life for me.”
